Upcoming STSA Residents Award Participation Deadline

Monday, April 6 is the deadline to submit abstracts for presentation at the 62nd Annual Meeting, November 4-7, 2015 at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Residents, don’t miss this opportunity to participate in the prestigious Hawley H. Seiler Residents Award Competition. To participate, submit your abstract(s) for presentation at the 62nd Annual Meeting. Be sure to check the box that indicates you would like to participate in the Competition.
Members of the STSA Program Committee and Council will score all competing residents on the quality of their manuscript, presentation, and ability to respond to questions. The resident with the highest aggregate score will be named the 2015 Residents Award Competition winner and will receive $500, a personalized plaque, and their name will be engraved on a permanent plaque to be displayed at future STSA Annual Meetings.
Matthew Bott, MD, participated in the 2014 Competition. Matt described his experience saying:
STSA is an excellent forum for residents to disseminate their work. It is generally well-attended and discussions are very enlightening, yet amicable. The meeting is very academic and publication in The Annals of Thoracic Surgery makes submitting abstracts very worthwhile. The small group feel of the STSA meeting makes for a more relaxed atmosphere. This in turn, fosters energetic, yet light-hearted discussion.
