STSA partnered with CTSNet to create and share select video presentations from the STSA 61st Annual Meeting with the CT surgery community online. The 61st Annual Meeting took place November 5-8, 2014 in Tucson, AZ.

Video of Dr. David M. Shahian’s November 7, 2014 President’s Invited Lecture is now available. In this talk — titled Codman’s Legacy: Data, Reporting, and Professional Responsibility — Dr. Shahian discusses Ernest Codman’s vision of enhancing quality in health care, noting that 100 years later some of Dr. Codman’s key principles still remain strongly relevant.

Dr. Shahian currently serves as Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Vice President of the Massachusetts General Center for Quality and Safety, and Associate Director of the Codman Center. He has been involved in health policy issues for nearly 20 years, with a focus on performance measurement.
